Road to Life...

There are many roads to life, all of them lead somewhere but it is what we do on our road that is invaluable.  Sometimes it takes getting "hit by the bus" figuratively speaking to make your journey count.  This is exactly what happened to me.

This quote by Carl Gustav Jung drives that home:

"There is no coming to consciousness without pain.  People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul.  One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."

It has taken me 46 years to come to this realization and ALL the absurd things I did to avoid "facing my soul"  but I am ever thankful to start that journey now than to never have the realization.  Where is your journey?  Where is your road to life? Are you hiding? Insecure? Putting your existence into material things? Living your life through your children?

Take time.  Sit quietly. It may be painful but don't look away. Embrace it.
